Makers mark - Ink transfer with an iron - Overheating?
Hi again
I just made my first semi successful makers mark! I'm pretty happy right now. ![]() I transfered my logo to the blade with an iron and electro etched the logo afterwards. i'm just worried if i risk overheating the blade? Should i just look for colour change? Any of you have any experience with this DIY makers mark? |

I never tried it that way. If the iron was less than 300F and if the iron did not need to stay in contact with the blade for very long then there should be no harm to the blade ....

Me either i always did a electro etch with a stencil of my logo not expensive to do and DC current litterly digs a hole in the shape of your logo and AC turns it black that logo will be there for a LONG time
