Yes, someone could.
And many already have. On every knife forum I am aware of there are lengthy discussions about the benefits of a 2x72 belt grinder, many of them praising the 3 wheel design of the KMG or NWG.

I have read plenty of lengthy discussions about the benefits of a 2x72 belt grinder but what I wanted to know was the pros and cons between just the two belt grinder the KMG and NWG. I thought this forum could help and give me informative advise before I purchased one. Thanks NJ Stricker for the help.

The performance of either is about the same.
The difference is cost and the ability to make one.
