Class with Tai..........

Hello every one!
I just wanted to introduce my self and show a little of my work. I also want to give a recommendation from taking a class with Tai Goo.
I have been a part time blacksmith/ want-a-be knife smith for 13 ish years. Then last November ?05 I contacted Tai and went to get some ?schooling?. I can not speak highly enough of my time spent with Tai. As I had some experience coming into the class we did not have to spend time on the very basics but we did go through the process of making a knife from start to finish. This filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge and changed how I am going about knife making. You can see the results in the photo below.
If you can make the time to work with Tai you will not be disappointed. Just E mail him through his contact info here on the chat board.

The knife below is made with 6150 steel, Veg oil quenched and tempered to 375 deg. The handle is desert iron wood with brass pins. OAL 11?

Thanks for checking this out!

I will have to 2nd that----i spent my birthday up at Tai's (my present to me) and learned (that should be "was taught"), watched and saw how "really easy" it is, and just basically stumbled thru the things i had asked for help with. a very fun and informative day---one of the best b'day presents in a long time. mike (thanks Tai)

Nice blade there Steve, well done. The shiv has been a favorite style of mine for quite a while. As far as Spending a day with Tai ... You lucky dawg ! # 1 On my list of top 10 blade smiths I'd like to spend a day in the shop with is a close tie between Tai Goo & Daryl Meyer

Thanks Mike!

Sell a few of those and you can afford a bigger hammer.

Those two knives are awsome! I have only attempted one itegral so far but want to do a whole lot more in the future. The flow on them is smooth and I can tell thier balanced just by looking at them.

Very good job and welcome to the Outpost?

Tai, You must have been impressed with Steve's hammer control. A bonk on the head with that hammer would be curtains.

Steve, Both are mighty fine knives! Do see a little of Tai's enfluence in both but thats a good thing.

Very nice work, Steve.

Did I see flames coming out of your head in Tai's "full Moon" pic?
