Very Cool. I can't stump it. Can you?

This is so cool. It is an artificial intelligence game on the net. You pretend to be either a dictator or a television sit-com character. The game will ask you a series of questions and try to guess who you are pretending to be.

So far it guessed that I was:

- Ethyl Mertz from the I Love Lucy show
- Barney Fife from the Andy Griffith Show
- Ed Norton from The Honeymooners

Try it, and see if you can stump it.

I stumped it. Here is proof. You will see that if you stump it, you are asked for some more info so it will not be stumped on that character again. It also askes who you are. Here is the reply you get if it can't figure you out:

Well, there you have it, I was wrong again. I was positive that you were Bull from Nightcourt! But you are far too clever for a puny computer like me. Now you can go and tell everyone while I sit here and try to put the pieces of my crumbled existence back together.
You can help me with one thing, though. If you tell me who you were and give me a good yes/no question, then I'll be able to guess it right next time. Wouldn't that be nice? But please, try to pick a general question that would be answered "yes" for some characters and "no" for some others. For example, "Are you Monica's brother?" is a bad question, because the answer is "no" for many many characters and "yes" for very few.

Who was I?

Ottis from Mayberry RFD The computer guessed Bull from night court.

Really cool site.

Yep, that's the way the artificial intelligence engines work. The more they are accessed, the more they "learn".

I've messed with similar ones which were quite easy to stump. Their knowledge base just wasn't built up yet. I stumped one tonight that was trying to guess a movie I was thinking of. When it guessed wrong I told it the movie was "The Dirty Dozen" and that a good general non-specific question woud be "Is it about a war?"

That's why I enjoyed this one. It has obviously been accessed quite a bit and has built up a lot of "knowledge".

I tried it two more times after the initial post and it successfully guessed Ted Baxter from The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies.

It is learning to "mess" with you to make you think it's way off too. On the Granny one, it asked "Do you work for the Government?" When I answered "No", it immediately said, "I think you're Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies -- Am I right?"

Terry,Saw this link over at BF and tried it.Alot of fun, except that some of the more illiterate members over there kept throwing names at it from dramas or sci-fi and then come back proudly claiming that they had stumped it.Try pretending to be a sitcom character and answer the questions that fit you and see who it thinks you are.It said I was Relic of The Beachcombers, whatever that was.I didn't need a computer to tell me I am a Relic.Dave:

That was fun. It got Augusto Pinochet and Catherine the Great without too much trouble. I thought I had it stumped with Charlemagne but the engine thought it won. One of us was wrong......can't have been me
