1084 heat treat

I am sure this has been posted before but I have had trouble finding anything on this. I have a couple of questions:

What temperature is everybody using to temper a edge hardened blade of 1084?

Has anyone noticed any improvements with multiple hardening sequences?

1084.......

I personally have found not benifits in multiple quenches on the plain carbon steels. The small amounts of Cr present in some steels seems to be the key to making the multiple quench work so well. On the other hand, EVERYTHING gets multiple tempering cycles. In my opinion it is nothing but insurance that the matrix has been completely transformed.

I don't do much with straight 1084, as my main use for this steel is in my damscus. I would recommend starting at 400F and then conducting the brass rod test. Depending on it's results, you may want to increase or decrease the tempering temp.
