This is what I came up with for the Porter-Cable Porta-Band 725 that I picked up. It's a small table and a based made of bits & pieces I had lying around.

I modified the angle of the blade so I could cut longer pieces, but did so at the expense of cross-cutting. In any case, it beats the hacksaw.




I did some documentation with dimensions and general assembly on my blog for anyone who would like to try this on a similar model.

After doing the Porta-Band and looking at some of the other portable band saws, the DeWalt and Milwaukee units with the wide throat would be preferred for bench mounting.

Looks pretty solid Dan. Should do the job. Great idea on changing the angle of the roller guides. Let us know how it holds up to actual cutting pressures. May just have to do that with mine.
