The "Tipper" can be quite temperamental for sure, however it is a solid machine in use by a lot of leather craftsmen. I've been using the same one for close to 25 years now and have no major issues with it other than some replacement parts have caused issues with my old presser feet not fitting. I modified and adapted.

I like mine mostly for the smaller footprint in my small shop. I produce better than 350 sheaths a year, each custom fitted to the knives I make. Plus I take in extra work for other maker's knives. The machine is solid, not fast, but solid. I don't ever see me getting anything motor driven. Hey that't just me....to each his own.
