Arpad
Bojtos is some what of a throwback to the Middle Ages
in that his focus, tools, techniques and Renaissance eye
seem more in step with 16th-century Europe rather than
the 21st-century version. He’s a full-time maker
who produces very few knives a year, mostly via commission
by sophisticated collectors who have an appreciation for
spectacular edged artwork.
Several months ago, I was
contacted by Steve Shackelford, the Senior Editor of Blade
Magazine. He was planning an article on IVORY
material being used for upscale knives and asked for my
input. We talked for a while and I told him about
some of the many knives that passed though my company that
used such beautiful scales.
